They have quickly become popular and the best known acne treatment across the country.

The Good

Proactiv has benzoyl peroxide, which is commonly used in prescriptions and over the counter products across the world, and they use appropriate and effective amounts. Their 3 step system has truly sparked a revolution, and frankly they have various other pieces such as a green tea moisturizer and a tightening mask that help in some ways.

The Bad

This formula has been known for its side effects, mostly those associated with benzoyl peroxide. It is common at best and sells due to the hype, not due to the facts. As far as their claims about what the dermatologists had decided upon, it is used in the majority of prescriptions. So the question becomes how is that really supposed to be different.

The Skinny

We would not recommend using Proactiv. It doesn't have the right ingredients to be original, let alone to be effective in many individuals, and for so many who have already tried benzoyl peroxide before and failed, it was a considerable disappointment to say the least. It is definitely far too expensive.
